You may register on the spot during the Pre-race expo for SCHM16, which will be organized on 24th September 2016 (Saturday) from 10 AM to 7 PM, at the Maheshwari Bhavan (2nd Floor) on Citylight Road. Please note that these registrations will be done subject to availability.
Who can participate?
Any person above the age of 16 years on the day of the event is eligible for the event; provided all the registration requirements are fulfilled. These include completing the registration process, paying stipulated fees, being present at the race day at the correct time in the holding area, and following the other general guidelines set for the race by the Race Director.

To apply for Surat City Half Marathon 2016 you need to submit the event application form, along with the application fees before the application deadline. Application forms received without requisite application fees will not be accepted. Before registering, please make sure to read the Rules & Regulations

Race Guidelines for Surat City Half Marathon 2016
Age on Race Day:
The participation in the Surat City Half Marathon is strictly subject to the following age restriction - you should be 16 Years of Age on the 13th of September, 2016.
Age Proof & Photo ID Proof:
You need to provide photocopies / scanned copies of a valid govt. issued age proof and photo id proof for completing your registration.
Even though you hold a valid running number BIB, you may not be allowed to participate in the event if any of our marshals or medical personnel feels you are not fit. In such an event you will not be entitled to a refund of your registration fees.
The race venue and route will be heavily marshaled and you are expected to follow their instructions in all eventualities, failing to do so will result in your participation being cancelled and no refund of your registration fees will be made.
No request for a refund of registration fees will be entertained, regardless of circumstances. If the event is cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the organizers, the registration fee paid by you for participation will be adjusted towards your participation on a new date. In the event of you being unable to participate on the new date, you will not be eligible for a refund.
Please note that the force majeure clause applies to this event.
You are expected to behave in socially appropriate fashion on race day. In the event if you are found to be behaving inappropriately, your registration will be cancelled and you will be escorted out of the race venue / handed over to the police. In such an event you will not be entitled to a refund of your registration fees.
Entry & Access:
Only registered participants holding a valid running number BIB will be allowed to enter the Event venue and take part in any of the races. Individuals without a valid running number BIB will not be allowed on the course.
There are limited parking spots available on race day and these will be allotted to individuals on a first come first serve basis once they have collected their running number BIB.
The organizers are not responsible for organizing transport and it is the responsibility of the participants to report at the race venue well before the start of the race. (See Race Schedule)
There is a facility to store your baggage at the race venue, however the organizers cannot be held responsible for the safety of your baggage or belongings and this is a service provided on a best effort basis only. For reasons of safety please ensure that you provide locked / sealed baggage only and do not store any valuables like jewellery, gadgets etc in the bags being kept in the baggage hold.
Footwear & Clothes:
It is your responsibility to wear appropriate footwear & clothes suited to run on asphalt roads, please note that wearing inappropriate footwear or running barefoot can lead to grievous injury.
Running Number BIB (Chest Number):
The running number BIB is mandatory for your participation of race day and will have to be personally collected by you at the Marathon Expo the details of which will be communicated to you by email.
In the event of your inability to collect your running number BIB the same can be collected by your representative. Your representative has to carry your govt. issued photo id along with an authorization letter duly signed by you, authorizing your representative to collect your running number BIB on your behalf.
Race day images of all participants will be screened visually after the race and if any of the participant is found not wearing the running number bib allotted to him/her, the participant registered for that BIB will be disqualified from the race.
Goodie Bags will be given to all participants on a first come first serve basis only at the Marathon Expo, details of which will be provided to you shortly by email only. It is recommended that you register early and collect goodie bag at the Marathon Expo early to avoid disappointment. Even though we have asked for your t-shirt size in the registration form, it is difficult to ensure that you will get the correct t-shirt size. In order to avoid disappointment please register early and be one of the first few to collect your t-shirt and goodie bag.
The timing facility is available for all runners participating in the event; it is your responsibility to make sure that you attach the timing chip correctly and to ensure that you follow the course correctly and pass over the timing mats located at strategic locations across the course. Please note that the timing is done electronically and there is a chance that your timing may not get recorded due to a failure in the chip, in such an event the organizers cannot be held responsible. We use the mylaps technology where the timing chip is attached to your running number BIB.
Please note: NO Chip – NO Timing
Certificates & Medals:
All participants will be issued a certificate online only. Certificates will be available only after 72 hours of the event completion. Medals will only be given the participants on successfully completing the designated course.
Information & Updates:
Information & updates will be emailed only, it is your responsibility to provide your email accurately & legibly, further if you do not receive an email receipt of your form submission within 72 hours of your submitting your form, it is your responsibility to call the event helpline and ensure that your email ID has been captured accurately.
